The Giants: 2005 season in review

All in all, a strange season. A fun season, but a strange one. By rights, the Giants should have been eliminated by the All-Star break, but thanks to the dreadfulness of the NL West, they hung around until Sept. 28. Perhaps they'll all heal up in the offseason, then starting next April, young Matt Cain will lead them to The Promised Land. Barry will hit 74 homers and Schmitty will win 30. You heard it here first.

New game: Name the new Giants manager!

Since it's alleged the current manager has burned out all the pitchers' arms and his brain has turned into mushy breakfast cereal, it's time to start suggesting new people to lead the Giants. Lefty's idea is that Dusty Baker should be the new manager, and he claims to be serious. I can see Manager Rags in the near future, but also how about: Manager Mike Murphy. Murph knows where all the equipment is and he's allegedly one of the most beloved people in baseball.

Dodger blahs

MIAMI (AP) — Dissension in the Los Angeles Dodgers' clubhouse sent center fielder Milton Bradley to the manager's office following Saturday's victory at Florida. Bradley said he requested the private, 25-minute meeting with manager Jim Tracy, apparently to discuss discord with a teammate.

With Kentie and Miltie occupying the same dugout, who'da thought the clubhouse would ever be less than harmonious?

"Fonzie" points to the sky as if to say, "Oh baseball gods, why hath thou forsaken my power stroke?"

Well, J.T. homered a day after his foto was posted here, so if it worked for Snow ....

J.T. Snow home-run watch

Sure, this man can save small children from impending doom, but he can't hit a home run to save his life. J.T.'s last homer was on June 2.

Take a few moments to worship the man, the legend ...... Willie Mays.
